wishing on a star

Everyone wishes
On the star they see.
Waiting for a miracle
To save our day.
We wish for things
Things like money,
Luck, relationships,
Or even to be god.
Sometimes we wish
For our jobs to do good
And to make a good
Money income.
Sometimes we wish
For something way
Off of what it is,
Or even to resurrect
Our loved dead ones.
I’ve been wishing
On stars that are,
Bright and dim,
Blue or white,
Alive or dead.
But none to come true.
None that are here.
I have wished for my
Mother to quit haunting
My dreams and songs.
I have wished for
To be loved by someone.
I wished for my anger
Too go away.
Wishing on a star
To have a dream.
Wishing on a star
To ace the test.
Wishing on a star
To die away from this world.
Wishing on a star
To be and always
Be happy.
But wishing on a star
Wouldn’t that be something?
If we wish and it comes true
Heh, some wish
Waste of time
Wishing on a star
If you ask me,
Why do we
When we know it won’t come true
Cause my hate
And sorrow for others
Will never disappear
By some wish on a star.
