Off To War

Many soldiers march off to battle.
Lined up side-by-side.
Defending weaponry blasts shots into oncoming enemy.

The attackers fall one-by-one.
Ranks of men line up marching forward still at the defending side.
The defending side still courageously opens fire at their attackers.
Blue fire slicing a hole in the opposing troops.

The attackers return fire, but with a more damaging blow.
Shots are fired and a many of troops fall.
The defending troops fall; the battleground is littered with bodies of young
men.
They fire damaging blows back and forth killing more innocent soldiers.

Men start to pray and even cry out for their families.
Smoke from the firing guns clears away.
The defenders won with a few hundred men to spare, but you couldn’t tell
they did because of the few hundred men they lost.

They are sad though, because all had lost a friend or family member, some
they even killed themselves.
They bury their dead and finish their prayers.
They head off to another battle another war.
More friends to lose and more friends to bury
