Meant to Be

Dry these eyes;
They've grown red and tired.
Comfort my bitterness;
Before the joy is expired,
Show me the way;
Away from the darkness.
Into the light;
Where I may lie in happiness.
Give me a reason;
To give out a smile.
Tell me the truth;
So I won't be so hostile.
Show me your hands;
That have been so soiled.
Let me wash away,
The dirt that left you spoiled.
I pray that you can forgive,
And forget the past; it's gone.
Now I have you here,
I can wake to see the dawn.
Please try your best,
To tell how you feel;
So that I may understand,
Why you chose to conceal.
Touch my hand;
Feel the tenderness of my spirit
Hold me in your arms;
Feel the sadness I emit.
And never let me go;
Don't release me from your embrace.
Look into my eyes,
So that I may see your face.
Let me caress you.
Let me take your pain away.
Let me reach your heart.
And gently relieve the dismay.
Look at me;
See the passion in these eyes.
Give me those tears;
Inside me they will dry.
We can intertwine;
We can be together as one.
We were meant to be;
Our lives have just begun.
Place your hand,
Atop my pounding heart.
I'll place mine on yours;
Forever, we can't be torn apart.
Always, we'll be;
Stealing each other's pain.
A lifetime we have at last;
To wash away the past that left us stained...
