MELTING

my heart has its winter
maintained by icy coldness
shadowed by dark gloominess
it entombs sorrow
like the dead leaves of autumn
sealed in wax paper
but today I smell spring
I close my eyes and inhale,
as the warm breeze carries
sweet intoxicating fragrances
from colorful dancing flowers
through the air
I walk barefoot over soft
blades of grass
the soothing scents
leave me peaceful
I feel your kiss on my lips
the taste of honeysuckle
I open my eyes and see you
your beautiful hazel eyes
and your smile that looks
like a sun rising over the ocean
you kiss me again
I can feel icicles melting
I feel summer coming
