Another year rolls by, memories begin to fade
Time moves on, again the seasons change
You’re almost an adult and soon you’ll be on your own
It’s just so hard to believe the childhood days are gone
You’ll start a new life with responsibility and growth
It’ll be a journey with many different roads
There will be sun just as there is rain
There will be happiness just as there is pain
You’ve learned the meaning of heartache, you’ve learned how to cry
As much as it may have hurt, you’ve learned to say goodbye.
Promises will be made just as easy as they're broken
Words are said just as easy as they're left unspoken
Just as there’s a lot to lose, there’s also much to gain
You’ve learned that some people change while others stay the same
You’ve learned to hold on, you’ve learned to let go
You’ve quit questioning the things you already know
You'll do right just as you'll do wrong
Times will be hard, but you'll see life goes on
There will be obstacles that you will have to overcome
But never lose faith, life is a race we must run.
You’ll see we’ll all choose different paths
And we’ll all follow our own dreams
But we’ll never forget these years and all the happiness they bring.
