Back In The Day

Back in the day,
You were my whole world,
You were my light,
You were my father.

Remember when,
we'd sit in your recliner,
Just munching on popcorn,
And just being friends?

Remember when,
We could just sit in silence,
Comfortable in each others company,
Living the happy life?

Remember when,
You went off to the Gulf,
Fighting a war for your country,
Fighting a war for your family,
Watching all of your buddies dieing?

Remember when,
You came back and ruined my world,
You snuffed out my light,
You were not my father?
