The chains fall away
as the rain drips on my head.

I stand alone
in my field of whispering shadows.
I raise my scarred arms,
while the wind rips through me.
I run.
I dance.
The rain has set me free.
I whirl in spinning circles
and collapse as the thunder shakes the ground.
Streaks of searing fire
send my fears flying into the lost shadows.
You cannot hold me anymore.

The chains fall away
as the rain drips on my head.

You feel my screams
of fury, of delight,
of freedom from the hell
that you call reality.
Tears of the prisoners
blend with the captors’
and pour down on me.
I weep no more.
The cries held back for so long
crash out with wrenching power.
I watch them swirling around the sky
and rustling the clouds.
I watch in silence as

The chains fall away
and the rain drips on my head.
