SAFETY

Be careful, think before you speak
Don’t cross there the bridge is weak
Hiding from your vulnerability
Covering the scent of instability
My eyes, yours never seem to meet
Your lips leave sentences incomplete
You look away pretending not to see
Hoping the turbulent will let you be
You stand firmly in ambiguity
And fall so easily into obscurity
Never the prisoner of rhapsody
Or a fallen victim to tragedy
A nightmare dressed in fantasy
A life shrouded in false security
Your lungs have filled to capacity
Drowning in the sanctity
Of what you call safety
