The Most Human Emotion

There’s no one there to talk to
And no one there to blame
You’re desperate for the answers
Yet there’s no one to explain

Friend, inwardly exploding
For fear that none have time
Makes you ache behind your eyes
A complete reverse sublime

I wish I could reach out to you
And let you bare your soul
It breaks my heart to feel your hurt
And view yours turn to coal

And I know you’re terrified
Gazing into a cloudy mirror
Dragons claw behind you
But I could make your vision clearer

Don’t you know you’re reaching
For the most human feeling known
Withdraw from standing in the dark
For you don’t want to be alone

When you don’t know how to cry
And your emotions are unmanned
All you’ve searched for all along
Is someone to understand
