As I walk outside
I see a 6year old boy
Crossing the street
About 2 blocks away
From where I lived
And at the corner
I stopped to see
The blood on the street

There he was
That 6year old boy
Blood all over
And tire ridges
On his face
Still there crying
Lying on the floor
As the car ran him over
And then he stopped
And looked

“Sorry buddy”
Is what he’s thinking
The people already seen it
He can’t run away
He has to live
With that guilt
For the rest
Of his remaining years

That 6year old boy
Mexican, brown eyes
Brown hair, 3’4’’
58lbs, and already gone
On the day
Of June 8th, 2004
