Prison Without Walls

Torn from your side
Thrown in a prison without walls
Where disease hangs in the air
Destroying who I was
Mutating who I will be
Held by intangible bars
In this hell of unknown faces
and unwelcoming stares
Life is stripped of all meaning
And the sickness swollows me whole
I scream until my throat bleeds
Until my blood boils and turns to poison
Until all the air escapes my lungs
And my heart shatters to dust
I lay as a corpse
My mouth hanging open
Begging for a taste of air
As my eyes search the darkness for salvation
For something to rescue me from this cell
No god
No hero of strength and cunning
They cannot save me now
My salvation lies in you

Tear out my dead eyes
Show me a perfect vision
Let me have you in my sight
Press your lips to mine
Bring the life back to this body
I want to breathe you in tonight
Slice open my veins
Drain that which poisons me
Let me have you in my blood
Take my shattered heart
Leave part of yours in its place
I want to feel them beat as one
