I huddle in my corner
eyes closed in fear
I still see the creeping shadows
reaching at me
with their icy cold fingers
I pull my shroud around me
block out their whispers of seduction
I shrink away from the reality chasing me
I draw into myself
Wishing to disappear
I can’t hide from it
Please, help me
protect me
The chilling hands pull the cloth from my eyes
I cannot fight
The shivers turn into bursts of flame
I look into the eyes of death
Its hand caresses my cheek
and wraps around my throat.
