In the time it takes for a tear to roll down her cheek
the light that shined in her eyes will soon turn bleek
propelled back to question her choice
she regrets not listening to that voice
excitement and mystery was his appeal
deception and lies he concealed
his pressence left her weak and shaken
his essence made her easily taken
in the time it takes to swallow her cries
she will be made to finally realize
she lost of herself something real
what was sacred is now revealed
he freed passion within her core
something never touched before
the love she thought was exchanged
was tainted and its fate pre-arranged
and in his last cowardice action
he took her love as a distraction
in the time it takes for other tears to follow
her heart will become empty and hollow
he'll helplessly grasp at words to explain
he will try in vain to spare her this pain
packing all his skeletons neatly in his bag
the horn beeping endlessly from his cab
inside awaits his children and their mother
he vowed to love and stay with forever
he makes his exit and closes the door
she lays crumbled and broken on the floor
all in the time it takes for a tear to roll down her cheek
