she sits alone at her table
emotions are unstable
she sits quietly in self loathing
being judged by her clothing
all the girls laughing and teasing
mean words not well hidden by fake sneezing
she held back tears as she stared at her lunch tray
he wants to go talk to her, but doesnt know what to say
he says to himself 'ill figure it out when i get there'
he nervously walks over and pulls up a chair
he says "do you mind if i sit here? im lonely today."
she says "i dont care" she moves her books out of the way
he starts talking to her, he's a funny kid, he got her to smile
they sat there talking and laughing for a while
after lunch, they said goodbye and parted
how could he be any dumber
after all that, he forgot to get her number
after school, he walked out to his car, she was parked next to him
he quickly walked up to her and said "hello again"
he asked for her number, and she said sure
they sat right there and talked a little more
she had to go, so she left, smiling as she drove away
thinking to herself, 'this has been a really great day'
later that day, he called her and asked if she wanted to go with him
he said he was going to a movie with some of his friends
she said she didnt have any money, so maybe later
he told her he would be ahppy to pay for her
she said ok, they hung out that night and had fun together
a few weeks later after many fun nights he realized that he liked her
