My Corruption

Here I write
Upon this sheet
Of tainted parchment
Tears I weep
The starkened truth
Of which I hide
To see the world
From thy own eyes

The hopeless view
Of flightless gray
To hide my heart
From stalking prey
These tears I weep
Are not from pain
But for the trust
I cannot gain

And locked inside
This welded door
To keep my heart
From feeling more
I find myself
Seeking you
To let you in
Upon my truth

So hold me here
While I cry
For I can no longer
Tell my lie
But this I know
My bit of truth
That my corruption
Lies in you
