There I was,
Getting ready for my date tonight.
Nervous as can be,
and anxious for my date to begin.

He soon arrived at the door,
His green eyes were shimmering,
and his dark hair was gorgeous.
It was hard, but I tried not to stare.
My palms were sweaty,
I was afraid of dead air,
and not knowing what to say.
I told myself to relax and be calm.


We went out to dinner,
A casual place in town
We talked the whole night;
we had so much in common
And so much to say,
That I knew I had found a new friend.
He was so sweet and kind to me,
And I hope he enjoyed the night, as I had.
I’m sure I’ll see him again, because
Before I went home he leaned in for a kiss,
And my heart, felt pure bliss.
