True Colors

There's a fire burning,
My soul is churning,
The heat envelops me,
I can barely see.

I wish you could see,
See what you've done to me.
You look but you seem so blind,
Are you afraid of what you might find?

Fear beyond fear, pain beyond pain.
I feel stranded here in the rain.
Anger beyond anger, sadness beyond sadness.
I've almost been taken over by madness.

You stand there and pretend you don't know,
Sometimes I don't think you're friend, but foe.
Then you left me, defeated and alone.
Finally, your true colors are shone.
