He unlocked the door and turned the knob,
What he saw,
Made his heart throb.
He did not know what he had become,
The lies, the memories,
His sanity, undone.
His vision was tapered by sticks and stones,
Rendered completely,
By broken bones.
He awaited for someone to arrive,
Someone to save him,
To help him survive.
Glancing over, through glassy eyes,
Her deadened skin,
He wished was disguise.
He stared and stared passed the trees,
Passed clouds,
As he fell to his knees.
Salty water falling from his cheek,
He cried out,
"I'm weak, I'm weak.
I've lost all that I've come to find,
I've lost my love,
Lost my mind.
With this last kiss, I'll say to her,
I love you dearly,
For all that you were."
