You Never Understood

You don't know what pain is like, until you've felt it ripping
through your chest.
Until it drives you mad, so that you become completely possessed.
You don't know what it's like to feel disgrace,
Not until you are crying, and it's burning red on your face.
You don't know what it's like to feel sorrow,
Not until you feel helpless, and have no hope for tomorrow.
You will never understand what I feel,
Nor these things that I try to conceal.
No one will never know of my shattered past,
Because I am leaving at long last.
I'll take all my secrets with me, and scatter them to the wind,
So that no one will ever know that I have sinned.
