What We Could Have Had

tears of happiness run down an open canvus
while streams of pain thrash threw closed valleys

memories of sandcastles still stand on the white sandy beaches
though stomping them in hate crash my mind

licking lolly pops at the carnival sweeten my heart
but the taste of sour eats my soul

picnics in the park refresh my body
while so close, yet so distant kills me

being on my own, having my own to find fills me with relief
but the lacking of you gone still disbeliefs a lost child

having no one to care for me with my heart so young and purished with love
breaks with one sign of unloving words or hate

once a week out of a month throughout a year
murders what we could have had

wishing does nothing but scratch my hopes
fill not full, gone not here, dead not alive

tears of happiness run down an open canvus
while streams of pain thrash threw closed valleys
