To Love Is To Lose

She's all alone,
A lonely girl,
No one to lean on
In this world.
But she gave you her heart,
Believing your lies,
And like trash,
You tossed it aside.
You stole all she had,
I hope you're proud.
You won the bet,
You're a big boy now.
Now she's broken
On the floor,
As you stroll
Out the door.
Now you're alone,
I hope you feel bad.
I hope you look back,
And miss what you had.
I hope she'll move on,
And mend her heart.
But now she's forced
To go back to the start.
Before all the pain,
Before all the tears.
Before she lost love,
And wasted those years.

They say it's better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved
at all.
But truely it's better to never love and never lose, and catch yourself
when you fell.

I wrote this during my Algebra 2 class last year, for my friend who was goin
through a bad break up. She didnt know that at the same time I was going
through one too...
