The First Christmas

I sit at my window, watching the rain pour down.
“What a dreary day,” I say to myself,
It’s seems like all my hopes have drown.
I think back to the beautiful days that were past.
They were wonderful and joyful full of fun
I think to now, “Would this rain always last?”
Yet, words of hope rise from with in me,
“This is just like life!
There are good times, bad times,
Times of struggle and of strife.”
But someone is there, through it all,
Someone to help you.
God is ready to answer to your every call.
He’s there to comfort you when times are bad,
And there to rejoice with you when times are good.
Whenever you look, He’s there to always lend a hand.
God loved you so much, He sent His Son,
To be the atonement for all of us,
Every single one.
Whether we be Jewish, Baptist, or Hindu,
God died for us all, me and you.
He sent Jesus, the first Christmas gift,
Wrapped up simply, in worthless cloths,
Laid in a manger, for a King, unfit.
There for the birth, were shepherds,
Mary and Joseph, animals of the stable,
And, of course, heavenly angels.
They sang “Gloria to the Most High.”
And as Mary laid her baby in the manger,
A tear ran from her eye.
She knew her child was special,
He was the One.
He would grow to save us all.
Thus, the first Christmas had begun.

Note--so mabye it's a little unseasonal...yay for me!
