She’s got long blond hair
Pretty blue eyes
Perfect tanned body
And sexy lean thighs

My heart drowns when I see her
I get butterflies inside
I wish I could just feel her
But something in me hides

She sparkles when she smiles
Her soul is full of love
She’s like an angel in disguise
I think she’s from above

I’d love to meet her one-day
She’s so caring and so kind
Maybe when I finally speak to her
My fears will be left behind

I gathered all my courage
I was prepared for the worst
Because if she said, “No”
I’d bury all my hurt

I asked her out
But she refused
Her words were cold
Clearly bemused

I turned away with screaming tears
I ran home, into my room
I didn’t understand what she meant
But I revived soon

I went to school next day
That pretty girl came to me
She apologized for being rude
I accepted her apology

On that night, we went out
I had a real good time
She leaned over and our lips locked
I could finally call her mine

Just last month, we married
The reception was in Yale
The struggle for gay marriages
Was not a fairytale.
