Could I live life from
a magazine?
Or is reality truly living
make-believe?
I know I'll never live
like the Runaway Bride,
and life is too complex
against American Pie.
Fall in love, have sex, get married;
simple as that?
Be thin, be sexy, show some skin;
but stage a clean act.
Love,
be social.
Love,
be public
only by night.
When it's over,
lovers go where
new loves have died.
So in answer
to my schoolgirl question-
does true love exist?
It comes in plastic bottles,
and it sours,
after the kiss.
