Staring at the things around
Holding my mommies hand
She runs over to a friend to chat
She left me alone standing
This man came over
Brushed his hand in my hair
Told me I was a cutie
And in his other hand he had an ice cream
I asked politely if I can have one
He said sure but you'll have to come with me
So I take his hand and walk away
Away from my mommies side
We got into his car
And he drove off
I stared out the window
Tears coming in my eyes
Wheres my mommie I scream
And he said Mommies alright
She wants you to stay with me
She doesnt want you anymore
I bite my lip and say Okay
He turned on the radio
And we listened to the blues
We got out of the car
My hand in his
We walk into his house
And i heard him say Honey im home
I curiously peek into the other room
The woman cried Oh My
He said I adopted a baby girl
Shes about five at least
I walked into the room
The woman cradled me into her arms
And said Oh what a darling she is
