Walkers Of Water

Ripples forming across an endless pool
They kneel down to drink but find the water too salty to stand
Birds swoop down to feast upon fish
As the walkers watch and admire life
As it goes on around them at sea
Looking up towards the stars
The heavenly display of wonder reflected in their eyes
Makes them wonder why
Why they in this sea of souls
Why are they to be so blessed
Their answers seem to lay somewhere
In the moon's maternal smile
People race to the shores
To find the walkers looking up at the sky
Seeing not what they see
But only darkness in a deep and dark void
They lack the clearness of soul to view such beauty
The walkers can feel their yearning
Their want to see the beauty
And feel the light of the moon
The walkers move toward the beach
Gasps and hushed whispers heard from the crowd
The walkers know that they must try
Try and give these people something to hope for
Some words that they may shed some light
On an otherwise darkened world.
