Wrapped inside this cocoon of mine
Hiding from the world
Terrified of what's out there
Clinging like a little girl
I yearned to fly free into the sky
Blosssom into beauty all my own
But afraid my life would end
Left broken and alone

Then one day I spotted a flower
Full of happiness and life
So inviting and delightful
I had to stop alight
You opened up a shell for me
Removed my blinding cocoon
My only wish is to be true
To fly away up to the moon

What a shock was it for me
To find a friend relieving
Eyes wide open all is anew
I enter love believing
You opened that cocoon for me
Singing a pretty lullaby
Life may end for me and thee
But free am I friend butterfly,
Free am I
