What I See

Within those eyes,
I see pure guilt;
The heaven and hell that God has built.
A world of lies that have torn our souls,
The truth that prevents us from reaching our goals.
Within your cries,
I see the past-- The future's disintegrating very fast.
Discrimination of race and class;
A homeless man-- a bum, an ass.
In your eyes,
no purity lies.
A woman who fails her destiny dies.

Is there no sanity
In our world today?
But a land of people who are full of hate?

From those eyes,
I see a tear;
Cries for freedom, cries of fear;
A hope, a prayer for peace to come.
A place shall the world become.

No more lies and no more sins;
No giving up; no giving in.

In your eyes,
I see visions-- everyone's together;
No divisions.
That's what I see
In your eyes.

*This poem's got some relation to Through Your Eyes, given that
I've used "In your eyes" a couple of times... but it revolves
more around the future and how the world can be a better place. =D
