Cheating Love

You told me that our love would last
I told you it didn’t matter what you did in the past.

I’d love you for who you are, not what you were.
I thought this relationship would have worked out for sure.

I believed in all your lies, and all the things you said.
I allowed you to make a fool of me and fill stupidity in my head.

You said I was the one, who you would always cherish,
How blind I must have been, not to see our love would perish.

When I saw you two together, you told me I was mistaken.
That she was just a good friend, and I was dumb for the scene I was making.

You started to change, you became more rough;
Your attitude your moods, I had enough.

When did you start wearing perfume? Why did you come home so late?
Yet you still deny the whole thing, “Baby it’s just a mistake.”

Then one night I came home
Thinking I’d find you alone.

I heard the laughter, I smelled the burning candles.
I walked into the bedroom, and it was all too much to handle.

You looked at me and back at her with amazement in your eyes.
Not knowing I’d be home so early to bring you such a surprise.

You told me you didn’t know her, your friends convinced you to do it.
You told me you still loved me, and you’ll give your life to prove it.

I just stared at you crying on and on.
Trying to convince me that nothing was going on.

You stood up and stared at me, still apologizing.
Telling me you were sorry. I was hardly even crying.

My tears will not shed for you, no matter what you say.
This love between us was never true, cause I was cheating on you anyway.
