Too Late

So many good times
I was blessed to share
With a girl like you.
We were quite the pair.

Giggles and laughs
Anger and tears
We stuck by each other
Through all of these years.

But I held your secret
Deep inside.
That most all of your thoughts,
Led to a dark suicide.

Many deep cuts
And many pills gone.
But you never succeeded
You still lived on.

Your mother now cries
Your father, in awe
As they comprehend
What they just saw.

Their precious daughter
Took her own life.
All they have now,
Is a blood-covered knife.

I should have said something
But I decided to wait.
Guilt overwhelms me
Because Now it's too late.
