A single tear falls from my face
No emotion, no fear
No sadness, no lonliness
No pain, no grief
No feeling whatsoever
No explanation
Not a word spoken
Not a thought thought
No memories dwelling
No irritation,
Nothing.
It simply fell
Slowly at first
Then faster
And faster
As it rounded my cheek...
Hanging
Suspended
Stuck on my chin
Falling now to my lap
What a wonderful encounter
How marvelous Life is
How much more marvelous is
The ability to understand the tear
Thoughts clutter my mind now
As I pick up a pen and start to write
"A single tear falls from my face..."
