Once, Twice, Slice

You came back to me
I never thought this could be
Once again, joined as two
An old relationship, now is new

You said we were done
No matter the fun
You had to let go
Your emotions wouldn't show

Now your back here
Holding me so close and near
Once you broke my heart
Don't make it twice, I'll fall apart

I should have known
Before our relationship had grown
That we wouldn't last so long
I never understood what was wrong

Our eyes met at a glance
I had given you a second chance
But who would've knew
That we're once again split as two...

Don't come running back to me
Explaining we are meant to be
I tried it once, and even twice
My heart again you cannot slice

Yes it's you I love
I mean this and all the above
But being together
Knowing things wont last forever
Is too much pain
I just don't want to gain

Maybe I'll give in once more
Lend you my heart like an open door
Just tell me we can last,
awhile longer
Just have a blast,
And become much stronger...
