Perfect Night

It’s amazing, the connections we make in the dark.
I feel so free, like a bright white lark.
Flying within the clouds, upon a friendly dragon’s back,
Nothing in sight, yet nothing that lacks.
Your bright blue eyes gaze into my shining face,
As you tell my lips a secret, as we embrace.
A secret only you could tell,
A secret that you tell so well.
Over and over again you catch my fall
So afraid of letting your one true love hit that great wall.
That wall of heavy concrete that damages tender hearts,
You could never allow that, because you’re too damn smart.

You and Me.
It’s just you and me.
Flying swiftly through the endless sea of clouds…
Your whispers in my ear, are the only sounds,
We start our slow decent to those lofty grounds.
I begin to realize how your love is so profound,
And how it will save me from anything in this world…
We land in a field of daisies and green grass,
We stop to look around and watch for cars to pass.
But the road, it is empty
Nothing but a june bug in sight.
For God has sent us perfection, for this one special night.
We lay in a patch of soft, luscious grass,
Falling asleep in each others’ arms…
Remembering our love can conquer all obstacles known to mankind.
