Lightening Strikes

It crawls across the sky
With a blinding light
And suddenly you can hear thunder up so high

It sings it's frightful tones
And it takes away your sight
It almost puts a chill in your bones

But something about it feels so right
Listening to it throught the rain
And it's especially beautiful at night
This thing called lightning

As I sit and watch it, I lose track of time
But sometimes it doesn't last that long
But no matter what, at night it's always in it's prime
That's when it seems so strong

On it's own, it's a complete event
It's really truly extraodinary
And from up above it's sent
However, sometimes it can be scary

But something about it feels so right
Listening to it through the rain
And it's especially beautiful at night
This thing called lightening
