Dear God,
This prayer is for someone who is living above,
This is someone for whom I greatly love.
But I have never met them because heaven is just too far,
I have not met them once, but they still are my shinning star.
I'm 14 and they passed away almost 30 years ago,
I hear stories about them, and my love for them continually grows.
I hear they are funny, loving, caring and more,
I wish I had a good picture to keep in my drawer.
I hear they play jokes and were a great time to be around,
I know in heaven they all will easily be found.
Because they are great people who anyone would love to know,
I bet I could hear them whisper to me in the wind blow.
When I am wrapped up in my blanket, It's like them holding me tight,
Knowing they will always be there, I know things will be alright.
When the cool spring breeze blows through my long hair,
It's like them rubbing my pain away gently, as if they were there.
When it rains upon my sad face, it is like them washing my pain away,
And they give me the strength to start a new day.
I know it is them when the bright sun shines over me,
Warming me, and setting their great love free.
I know they are here with me, like my guardian angel,
To watch over me, and help my problems dangle.
One was shot in the war but did not die,
They all smoked and got cancer, so they had to say good-bye.
I wish I could have met them, why did it have to be this way?
But it's fine, because they are with me now and we will meet someday.
So please tell them that I love them, and can not wait to meet,
But we do not have to wait until heaven for our love to be complete.
