its the simple thing
you do when you know your right
crisp and happy, it lies on your face

but more than ever
we take those moments for granted
putting us in shame, and in disgrace

as time goes by
we become a little self-centered
keeping our friends, begins to be a race

we know when we push this grin too far
yet we dont know how to stop it
we need it gone, and off our face

as life goes on, and friends go by
we start to learn something
you dont have to be right, all the time

this grin is good sometimes
but not all the time
less is more, less is not a crime

so my words to you now are this
dont always grin for attention
wear it when you know your right
put it on when you tell a good joke
use it when an attraction is in site

a grin can be worn out fast
but when used correctly
you can have the best times of your life
and you'll grin even more when looking at your wonderful past
