A single silver strand
Of moonlight streaming down,
Shining it’s mysterious warmth
On all that is around.

A single ray of hope
Fads with the sun that sets.
She recollects her past,
And promises never to forget.

A single tear is shed
At a loved one’s grave.
He died to protect his country
And others he did save.

A single word is muttered
From the dying’s lips.
A word of true devotion
As from this life he slips.

A single girl is standing
By herself, all alone.
He promised he wouldn’t leave,
But still she is alone.

A single heart is broken
As a love’s devotion fails.
She knows they were meant to be
And this her soul it ails.

A single life restored
With the promise of a new day
A simple phrase to keep her going:
Come what may.

A single silver strand
Of moonlight streaming down.
I bask in it’s strange warmth,
Knowing my future holds no bounds.

--Alright. So it's not the best. It actually kinda sucks. But, i do
need a title. That really bugs me.

Shells--thanks for the advice!!! I changed everything. and that sunset part
was actually a typo, but it was changed anyway. and i like the title you
suggested...i just don't know how to change the title of the poem on
here..oh well.
