Behind A Smile

Torn and weathered by the pain they gave
She’s no longer the beautiful one, they once knew
Nothing can help, she can’t be saved
She sits alone, knowing there’s nothing she can do
She began to cry, hating to be alone
The crying came harder through her body so weak
Knowing sooner or later she wouldn’t be on her own
But surrounded by people calling her a freak
She thinks she can’t handle the pain any more
As down her wrists the blood runs red
She finally let’s go, and lets her spirit soar
In her mind, she was already dead
It would never end it just worked its way inside
And ate her up all the time and everyday
So behind a smile is where she chose to hide
No one ever knew, there was nothing they could say
For a while no one knew the smile wasn’t real
But then it started to fade away
And then depression again she began to feel
The blood came down, the very next day
