they can say we're best friends
but it's more than that
more than they know
our friendship feels like something i once lost and gained back again

or that i envy you

or holding my hand when i have my first child
would it be out of line to say i can see me hugging you threw all the
heartache and distress
and embracing you as you graduate
so afraid to become distant with you

i'll promise you i'll be here to laugh with you over good memories
promise i'll be there to wipe away your tears
so smile when you miss me

yesterday we started a friendship
and tommorow this friendship will never die
