Immortality

*One of my old ones*

I watched my world change,
Everything looked so strange.
I watched my love die,
I wish that I had had the will to cry.
Is immortality worth this?
Is this my only bliss?
I watched the stars fall out of the sky,
All and all I had to ask why.
I watched everything I loved fall away,
I cried as the night wained into day.
I watched everythign burn and become anew.
Was it only my freedom that I slew?
Is immortality everything that I hoped for?
I was greedy, I tasted life and I wanted more.
