I like how we stay up talking
& the rest of the world seems dead
We say things we never thought we would say
& we give away lies & truths
Listening to every detail in each others words
Hearing every background noise in each others homes through our cordless
phones
Watching the clock tick away at the hours
Sleep becomes inevitable
& we say our goodbyes
The room is filled with silence
& I lay awake, staring at my city of stars
They are un-even & misplaced
I drift in & out of sleep
Holding onto the sound of your voice
Letting your last words linger in my head
& I can almost taste your astounding beauty,
With every single word that you say
I am flowing through your veins
& my heart collides with yours,
becoming one
