i feel the iron encircling my wrist
the cold steel rubbing my skin
the welts forming and blood drying
i try to pull myself up
but theres no more strength left
when i fell i gave up
the chains clank and water drips
breaking through the silence
through the dark and the cold
i'm left to fold
when the door was closed
i was left alone
and now i see no more
no longer does my spirit soar
i've shead the tears
i've screamed my fears
i've even fought
with what little i've got
my arms are stretched above
by wrists bleeding bare
my body hangs sore
and my mind is no more
i cant remember when i became this way
i dont recall the way to this fate
cant even recollect when i was put in this cage
when i was hung for dead
no ones outside the door
i'm alone in this cell
dragged down by these chains
with no feeling, i stare into the hollow darkness
watch as my life slowly fades
and i no longer bare these chains
when i can be set free
no longer wear
my chains of defeat
