I cling to my cliff,
deserted and afraid.
My eyes close in fear,
waiting to open again
only when all is well.
I cannot let go.
There is no hope but
I refuse to let go.
I will hang here forever
blowing in taunting wind,
waiting for my angels to lift me up.
There is no one to help me now.
I fear not of dying
but of waiting to die.
I refuse to let go,
but I cannot hold on.
One final tear rolls down my dirty cheek.
One final breath,
and I relax my grip on life.
The wind wraps its cool, welcoming arms around me.
I feel its final caress
As I die.
