Tell me - will you let me breath now
now that you've seen
that's it you I need
and I'm giving you what you need now

Now that I'm open and accessible
Perfectly attainable
Maybe only holding back
what's decisively complainable

It took some time to get from sublime
to fallible
And some more to get to
Fanatically Blameable

And here we are on the brink of
imperishable
Serenity

And you're getting plenty of me
And it's honestly
What's been inside of me
Pushing at the seams
screaming for release
Possessing, imposing, expressing
My desire...
to please You

Are you listening now?
Have I got your attention now?
That you know my intentions now.

When all you've done is whine and vie for my time
You're only happy when I let you say:
You're mine
You're mine
You're mine

Well maybe now you've seen that I belong to no one
And maybe you don't appreciate it until you're sitting all alone

And that's the funny thing with compromise
It's learning to love each other,
Learning to be together,
Learning that I'm not your mother...

And now you see
when we can both let go
both take it slow
and savor these moments when we both seem to flow
And our lunatic past
drags it's wisdom in tow
It strengthens a bond you can only get with time

Maybe one day you'll even hear me say
He's mine
He's mine
He's mine
