Call Me Death

You walk by,
Like clouds of disease,
Floating unseen,
No-one can see the pain you bring.
The words from your lips are poison,
Like knives, destruction they cause.
I ask – How did this happen?

No answer I shall accept,
Other than from the remains of my heart.
If I am to survive in this world,
As I am, I cannot stay.
My heart I must destroy,
Launch to the fire.
I watch it burn, no mercy I feel.

The hate and the pain of this world,
Begins to flow through my veins.
I look up,
And with the aid of the darkness within,
I look to the light above,
The light and the good I allow to seize my eyes,
Blinded by the pain that the good,
Those close gave willingly.

For no more I shall take.
If it means living in the dark,
Becoming the bearer of pain,
Then call me death,
As in this world, to survive the clouds,
Greater you have to be,
Than the invisible shadows of pain,
Which lurk around every corner where the light is found.
