This Cloud is Here to Stay

When you left, I followed you.
I walked into a cloud,
A cloud that darkens my eyes.
Yet I see your shadow each way I look, drifting away.

I try to follow, I move, you’re gone.
Sinking into the ground,
Walking has no purpose now, for reach you I cannot,
The more I chase you, the further you run.

I close my eyes in the vain hope, that all the pain will leave.
I’m scared, scared of what to do, without you.
All around me, all I see, are illusions of you,
You’re not real, yet I reach out for you,

Your image, slashed my the touch of my hand,
Part of the cloud you have become.
I look down, my tears I see, black,
Running down my body, dripping off my fingers,

Filling up the cloud, drowning me in the dark,
All because you left.
And now I realise, you’re not coming back,
This cloud is here to stay.
