Waiting Outside

Solitary heart breaking in two,
Each and every time you walk by,
Every time you leave with an icy breeze,
As you leave the space right by my side,

Forgiveness you do not know,
As you pile in my arms the blame,
You did nothing wrong, twas solely me,
Left me outside in the pouring rain.

Tangled hair all soaked through,
Clothes now rags as I wait for you,
Soaked right through to my skin,
As I still hold hope of being let in.

I don’t know how long I can wait,
Until my spirit dies,
But one thing’s for certain, when you open that door,
I’ll be right here waiting outside.
