Close to you I was back then,
So fresh your long gone memory,
We laughed together, we cried together,
Not a day went by without a smile.

And although you’re gone,
You’re still my world,
The reason I smile during the day,
You’re still the light I once saw in life,
Until I let you go.

Swimming in pain of which I summoned,
Can’t breathe the air anymore,
Drowning in my love for you,
Watching the blood from my spirit pour.

No reason I see to swim to the surface,
For I know there’s nothing waiting,
I just sink deeper and deeper into the darkness,
To the shadows within my soul.
