Remember Me

The fire in my eyes has long burnt out,
Those dreams, it seems, I've forgotten all about,
My home, my life- Nothing's the same,
Myself, I believe, I've put to shame,
The soul I loved has lost it's glow,
My body has lost it's graceful flow,
That tender touch has lost it's way,
That hopeful prayer, gone astray,
My deepest, darkest secrets revealed,
These wounds, I fear, will never be healed,

But when you see me passing by,
Please ignore my hurtful cry,
And when you hear my stories untold,
Remember my heart once made of gold.
