Behind the smiles

You think you know
But you have no idea
You think you know me
But you haven’t the slightest idea of who I am
You see the fake me
Do you know what are behind these smiles?
Behind this smile is a broken heart
I smile to try to hide from the pain
I try to forget
But it’s still on my mind
If only you could see thru the smile
You might be able to help me
But I won’t reveal it
My stubbornness is making my pain hurt immensely
If only I could just come out and say it
But I can’t
I’m afraid
Br0ken smiles are who I am
But all you see is the simple smile
It’s funny how you can lie without words
And that is what I will continue to do
Until you save me
